Privacy Policy for MyQuota
Last updated: August 2026
MyQuota ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data our Chrome Extension collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.
1. Data Collection and Usage
MyQuota operates entirely locally within your browser. It monitors your usage and projected costs across supported AI platforms (such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, Perplexity, and GitHub Copilot) by reading usage information from the responses those providers' own websites already make while you browse — MyQuota never calls an API on your behalf.
To provide this functionality, the extension accesses:
- Website Content: Usage numbers are read and parsed locally from the pages you visit.
- User Activity: Your usage metrics, preferences, and budget settings are saved locally to render charts and trigger budget alerts.
2. Data Storage and Sync
All data (including your 90-day usage history and budget settings) is stored locally on your device. Your extension settings may sync across your own devices using Chrome's native browser sync feature, which is tied to your Google account. The extension itself operates with no backend servers, no analytics, and no external databases. (This website, myquota.ai, has one narrow, separate analytics arrangement covering some of its marketing pages — see section 5 — which has no connection to the extension or to anything described in this section.)
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or transfer your data to any third parties. Your data never leaves your browser, except via your own Google account's native Chrome sync. Because MyQuota runs entirely on your device with no backend servers, we — the developers — never receive or have access to what you type, what the AI writes back, account emails, or usage numbers. The two exceptions — neither of which involves any of the data described above — are the uninstall page (section 4) and this website's aggregate, cookieless traffic analytics (section 5).
4. When You Uninstall
If you remove MyQuota, Chrome opens one final page on our website — myquota.ai/uninstall — offering you the chance to tell us why you left. This is the only time MyQuota is associated with a request to a server we control, and by then the extension has already been deleted from your browser along with all of its local data.
- The address carries nothing about you. It has no query parameters: no install identifier, no usage figures, no record of which providers you were tracking. It is the same fixed address for every user.
- Like any web page, it is served by a host. Loading it means your IP address and browser user-agent reach our static hosting provider, exactly as they would for any other page on the site. We do not run analytics on it.
- Feedback is opt-in, and saved the moment you pick a reason — not only if you press send. We store your chosen reason as soon as you select it, so that reason isn't lost even if you close the tab before pressing "Send feedback." If you type something in the optional text box and then either change your reason or press Send, we add that text to the same record; if you never do either, we keep just the reason. Either way, all we ever store is your reason, whatever you typed, the provider you picked (if you chose one), and the date — nothing else. No install identifier, no usage figures, no list of the providers you were tracking, no IP address, no cookie. We keep this for 12 months and then delete it. You can still reach us by email instead, at the address below — if you do, we will see the address you send from, because that is how email works.
- You can simply close the tab. If you never select a reason, doing so leaves us with no record that the uninstall happened at all. If you do select a reason and then close the tab, we keep that reason (see above) — nothing more.
5. Website Analytics (myquota.ai)
Most pages of this website — everything except this privacy policy and the uninstall page above — use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see aggregate traffic: which pages get visited, roughly where visitors come from, and which countries. This has nothing to do with the extension, your AI usage, or anything you type, and it is a separate arrangement from anything described in sections 1–4.
Cloudflare Web Analytics uses no cookies, no local storage, and no persistent identifier of any kind — Cloudflare states it does not fingerprint visitors using their IP address, browser, or device. It cannot be used to identify or follow an individual visitor, and we have no way to connect a page visit to an extension install. See Cloudflare's Web Analytics documentation for how they collect this data.
